VA Aid and Attendance Benefits

Welcome to Baja Group's dedicated section for Veterans' Resources! As a veteran-focused organization, we understand the unique needs and challenges that veterans and their families may face, especially when it comes to accessing essential benefits and services.

If you're a veteran or a survivor seeking assistance with financing for services like VA Aid and Attendance or Housebound benefits, you've come to the right place. These benefits provide crucial financial support to eligible individuals who require help with daily activities or find themselves largely confined to their homes due to disabilities or illnesses.

VA Aid and Attendance Benefits:

VA Aid and Attendance benefits are designed to supplement the monthly VA pension for qualified veterans and survivors.

You may be eligible for this benefit if you meet one of the following criteria:

1) You require assistance with daily activities such as bathing, feeding, and dressing.

2) Due to illness, you spend a significant portion of the day in bed.

3) You are a resident of a nursing home due to disability.

4) Your eyesight is severely limited.

Housebound Benefits:

Housebound benefits are available to veterans and survivors who spend most of their time at home due to a permanent disability. If you receive a VA pension and find yourself largely confined to your residence, you may qualify for this assistance.

Applying for Benefits:

Applying for VA Aid and Attendance or Housebound benefits is a straightforward process:

Complete the Necessary Forms: You can fill out VA Form 21-2680 (Examination for Housebound Status or Permanent Need for Regular Aid and Attendance) and submit it to your pension management center (PMC).

Ensure that your doctor fills out the examination information section. Include Supporting Evidence: Along with your application, provide additional evidence such as doctor's reports and details about your daily activities and limitations.

For Nursing Home Residents:

If you reside in a nursing home, you'll also need to fill out VA Form 21-0779 (Request for Nursing Home Information in Connection with Claim for Aid and Attendance).

If you prefer to apply in person or require further assistance, you can visit your nearest VA regional office. Our team at Baja Group Living is also available to provide guidance and support throughout the application process.
